Hege Gjerde Sviggum has a love for nature, flowers, and plants — an interest that has been with her since childhood and has given life to a burning interest in botanical art and illustration. Based in Sogndal, Western Norway, she lives close to nature and draws much of her inspiration from her surroundings.

Hege holds a degree in art, crafts, and design, along with many years of experience as a senior lecturer in art and crafts. This background has provided her with extensive experience in creative work. She has further developed her skills through education from the Society of Botanical Artists and the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew in London.

As a professional illustrator and artist, Hege is dedicated to creating realistic and visually stunning works characterized by high quality and botanical accuracy. She employs traditional techniques such as watercolour, pen, and graphite in her artwork. Hege has showcased her talent in several international exhibitions and has contributed her artistic skills to various projects, including illustrations for the flora Planter i Norge (Plants in Norway).
